Molds are microscopic organisms that are found virtually everywhere both indoor and outdoor. Molds are tiny, lightweight and easily detached by airflow, vacuuming, walking or by opening and closing exterior doors. They produce and release millions of spores, which are small, airborne and often a threat to the human respiratory system. Some molds release spores into the air when they are active or moist while others release mold spores when they are dry and or disturbed. Some molds may release mold spores into the air under both conditions.
The presence of certain mold and mold spores can result in mild to severe health effects in humans and in some instances, can deteriorate the building material in the dwelling often resulting in structural damage. Due to the potential for rapid growth (24-48 hours in some cases) of mold like substances, the Inspector, Inspection Company or Mold Remediator, cannot be held responsible for changes occurring after testing / Inspection is performed. Typically, when a specific area or entire structure undergoes mold remediation or remodeling, additional mold problems may surface that were not noted in this report or were not readily visible at time of inspection. Any work undertaken on the property may reveal additional mold or mold like substances which should be tested for toxicity.
Mold requires water, food, and oxygen to grow
